Cindy Hovig is founder and owner of Beyond Balanced Books Inc.  Cindy is happiest when she is elbow-deep solving complex problems for her clients and truly thrives when working with clients who appreciate the high quality of her work and customer service.

An early adopter of cloud accounting, she champions online tools like Xero, Gusto, Hubdoc, Expensify and ReceiptBank, because she has seen them transform small businesses.

Cindy likes to keep up to speed with technology by attending conferences like Xerocon, and really enjoys the youthful enthusiasm of her team.

With a lifelong passion for nature and the outdoors, Cindy feels most blessed when whale watching in Hawaii and camping at Lake Tahoe.

Amanda Esquivel

Staff Bookkeeper

As Staff Bookkeeper, Amanda is a Xero Certified Advisor. She loves working in accounting because it’s like solving a puzzle where everything fits together in the end. 

Amanda performs a variety of bookkeeping tasks for clients. She loves learning new things which vital as we work with ever changing technology. Amanda is organized, resourceful and trustworthy. She has prior experience as an office manager and bookkeeper for an HVAC contractor. When Amanda is not working, she enjoys archery, and bike riding with her husband. 

Jessica Berkley

Staff Accountant

As Staff Accountant, Jessica is a Xero Certified Advisor. Having made the move to California from the Midwest, Jessica brings with her over 10 years of experience in bookkeeping and accounting.  Her past experience ranges from assisting small businesses to handling accounts for a luxury resort on the shores of Lake Michigan. 

In Jessica’s opinion, no matter the size of your enterprise, good financial knowledge and organization is the key to continual stability and growth. She takes an honest and straightforward approach to her work which has helped her build strong professional relationships. When Jessica is not working, she enjoys cooking, art, crocheting, and spending time outdoors with her family and friends.

Rebekah Denney

Junior Bookkeeper

Rebekah is our Junior Bookkeeper and a Xero Certified Advisor. She loves how Xero makes bookkeeping so easy. 

Rebekah keeps our office running smoothly.  She processes client payments, makes deposits, orders our supplies, handles our social media.  Rebekah also assists with client bookkeeping tasks. Rebekah is energetic, enthusiastic and fun to have around.  When Rebekah is not working, enjoys cooking, camping, hiking, and spending time with her husband and their Corgi.
